PASS PLUS
The Driving Standards Agency have designed a training scheme for drivers that have just passed their test, called PassPlus.It's aim is to improve the new drivers skills and make them safer drivers.The benefits - safer driving being the most significant, also includes cheaper insurance options to the pupil - on completion of the course - which could save the pupil a considerable amount of money on insuring that first car!
PassPlus consists of a minimum of 6 hours training and the emphasis is on developing your practical driving skills.There is no Test at the end, your driving is assessed throughout each module and you must complete each module to my satisfaction to successfully complete the course.
On completion of the course you will be issued with a certificate which you can present to a number of participating companies to claim your cheaper insurance.
A recent survey by ORC International for the DSA showed that of those who had taken the PassPlus course:
93% felt more confident on the road.
89% considered their driving skills had improved.
I am PassPlus registered and therefore qualified to teach the course.
I am also participating in a scheme run by Wiltshire County Council which offers a limited number of candidates subsidised PassPlus courses which can reduce the cost of the course by nearly 50%-please contact me for more details.
