TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(CUSTOMER CARE CHARTER)

Introduction
The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which driving lessons and courses are offered to you by Snookies Driving School.

1. General Conduct
As a driving instructor I am bound by a professional code of conduct. I will at all times be courteous, polite, tidy and circumstances permitting punctual. I will also behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times. The car will be well maintained, clean and tidy. The car will be fitted with dual controls as standard equipment and be fully insured for driving tuition. Smoking is not allowed in the car and at no time will your lesson time be used for any other form of business, personal or otherwise.

2. Qualifications
I have been trained and passed all the relevant exams to give driving instruction. The Government body responsible for driving instruction and examination is the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) .I hold the relevant license issued by the DSA and it is on display at all times during driving tuition.

3. Driving License and Eyesight
The learner must hold a current, valid driving license (provisional or full), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The learner must also check they can read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres with glasses if worn.

4. Payments
Please note payments must be made at the start or in advance of the lesson.

5. Lesson Postponement
If the learner is unable to keep an appointment for a lesson and they notify me within 24 hours of the pre - arranged lesson then no penalty will be incurred. If however the lesson is cancelled at short notice (ie less than 24hrs) and I cannot obtain additional work for that period, then I reserve the right to charge the pupil the full amount for that lesson or a token charge ( minimum £10.00) to cover me for any loss of income. The decision to charge will be at my discretion, and will be decided by, and dependant on the reasons / circumstances of the cancellation.
I also reserve the right to postpone lessons if I feel the road or weather conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. I cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of having to postpone any lessons, for whatever reason.

6. The Driving Test

a. Bookings
Driving tests can be booked by you, or preferably by me. Driving Test bookings will always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may, in exceptional circumstances, be cancelled for someone else's driving test. Changes to lesson bookings as a result of this will be notified of immediately. Test appointments booked by the pupil must be notified to me immediately, to avoid double booking, otherwise I cannot guarantee to provide my car for the test. If I have booked the test and paid the test fee on behalf of the pupil, then I must receive full payment within 2 weeks of the booking or before the test is taken whichever is sooner. I reserve the right to cancel a test at short notice if the fee is not received and to charge for the forfeited test fee if appropriate (see section 6c below). I also reserve the right to charge for loss of income if my car was booked to be used for the test and additional work cannot be found for that period.

b. Use of Vehicle
In the interest of customer and public safety, I reserve the right to withhold the use of my car if, in my opinion the pupils driving is not up to standard or is actually or potentially dangerous.

c. Test Cancellation
If the pupil cannot take the test for any reason, then three clear working days notice of cancellation or postponement (not including Sundays or Bank holidays) is required by the DSA. Failure to give the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee. I cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of tests by the DSA. However I will do all I can to arrange another test as soon as possible, or help to reclaim expenses from the DSA.

7. Pupil Responsibilities, Comfort and Safety
The pupil must present themselves for the lesson in a fit state to drive. I reserve the right to cancel at anytime during the lesson if I suspect the pupil to be under the influence of drink or drugs. The pupil should also check if taking any medication, that it does not affect their ability to drive in any way. The pupil will be charged in full for that lesson and I reserve the right to cancel any further pre-arranged lessons if I feel the pupil does not in my opinion show they have the necessary responsible attitude to drive safely on the road.
In the interest of comfort the pupils are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing that does not restrict movement.

8. Punctuality
In their own interest pupils are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointment. I would normally only wait a maximum of 15 minutes before the lesson would be abandoned, and at my discretion, charged for. A reciprocal waiting period for the pupil maybe required if I am unable to get to the lesson on time due to unforeseen circumstances. If I am still unable to get to the lesson within 15minutes of the pre - arranged time I will attempt to contact the pupil by phone or text - arrangements can be made to adjust the duration and cost of the lesson to suite both parties.

9. Complaints
If you have any complaints about any aspect of your training then please make me aware of the problem as soon as possible so the problem can be resolved immediately.

10. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods or services provided. I have an obligation to provide you with a service fit for the purpose as described. If you have any doubts about your rights please contact your local Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
